School-Based Tuition Assistance

Most Houston private schools have their own need-based aid, sibling discounts, church-member rates or work-study that stack with TEFA.

Among the TEFA-participating K-12 schools in our directory, dozens report sibling discounts, scholarships or sliding-scale tuition in the state finder — we show those flags on each school page.

Texas's tuition guidelines require that generally applicable discounts (siblings, employees, parishioners) keep applying to TEFA families. A school may weigh the TEFA award in its own need-based aid decisions.

Ask every school three questions: Do you participate in TEFA? What is tuition for my grade, and which fees are TEFA-eligible? What aid do you offer on the balance?

How to stack it

School-Based Tuition Assistance can usually be combined with school-based aid and at least one other source on this site. Complete the funding check and an advisor will map the full stack for your child.
