Paying for Catholic school in Greater Houston

The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston runs one of the largest Catholic school systems in Texas, and most of its schools participate in TEFA.

The stack at a Catholic school

TEFA ($10,474) → parishioner rate → Archdiocesan tuition assistance through FACTS → school aid. Eligible fees (registration, books, technology, uniforms, lunch) can come from the TEFA balance.

Catholic high schools

Strake Jesuit, St. Thomas, St. Agnes, St. Pius X, Incarnate Word, Cristo Rey, Frassati, St. John XXIII, O'Connell and others — TEFA pays the same $10,474 at every grade.

Timing

Archdiocesan tuition assistance Round 1 has run December 1 to early March. Apply for both — schools explicitly ask families to apply for TEFA too.
