Pre-K eligibility is narrower than K-12. State law ties it to the criteria for free public pre-K, and it was the most common reason applicants were found ineligible in year one.
A pre-K provider must be state-licensed child care in good standing and meet one quality marker — Texas Rising Star 3 stars or higher, Texas School Ready participation, a district pre-K partnership, or recognized accreditation.
More than 500 Houston-area pre-K providers appear in the state finder. We list every one in the Pre-K section, with the grades and features each reported.
How to stack it
TEFA Pre-K & Kindergarten can usually be combined with school-based aid and at least one other source on this site. Complete the funding check and an advisor will map the full stack for your child.
