Workforce Solutions Child Care Assistance

Gulf Coast Workforce Solutions helps working and training families pay for child care at licensed providers, including many church preschools and private schools' early childhood programs.

Applications run through the statewide KinderConnect system; Workforce Solutions processes them within 20 days of a complete application and may place families on a waitlist.

This fills a gap TEFA leaves open: before- and after-school care is not an eligible TEFA expense, but it can be covered here at a participating provider.

Ask your preschool whether it accepts Workforce Solutions and whether it holds a Texas Rising Star rating — the same rating that helps it qualify as a TEFA pre-K provider.

How to stack it
